3 Stripes and You're Out

Wait.. that's not quite right... However, those of you that are more "militarily inclined" might get what I'm hinting at. Yes... I got my promotion! Two nights ago actually, but, every time I've come in to use the computers in approximately the last 48 hours, the internet has been down. I got pinned by the first sergeant, and one of the lieutenants, which was pretty cool as the LT is one of our favorite officers. He should make a good commander someday. It was also cool as, even here the guys maintained our unit promotion tradition and dumped cold water on me as I conducted pushups after getting pinned. An additional surprise was that a couple of the guys from my old "Top Gun" section who are currently "up north" were able to be there as they were here in Baghdad for the night. Due to operational requirements, I won't take on any additional duties/responsibilities at this point, but those should come along once we come home to the states and get back to doing what we used to do: blowing stuff up! That's really all that I have at this point, other than that the weather is refusing to cooperate and continue the downward trend; it was back up to 105 today. Hopefully it works itself out soon. I'm ready for cold weather!

SGT TeddY2K out!

Super cool. Congratulations Teddy.

For those who don't know, getting pinned does NOT mean he is going steady with the lieutenant. It is the act of pinning the insignia on the collar.

Hooah and congratulations on the promotion. Making it into the NCO Corps is a big step!

The guys at the house told me about your blog when I was there for Pig Dinner 2005 and I just finally located it today - new location? From what I hear, you'll be back in plenty of time for the next one.

Good to read your thoughts from the bag. Don't get dead.

Perge!

Teddy!!! Congrats SGT. I know there is not much I can say as a lowly LTJG, but just think, you've been promoted three more times than I have. Take care, and I can't wait to see ya.

Sarge - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! A big YAHOO from Nashville to YOU!!!

Oh, and "dad" - thanks for clarifying on the terminology. Since Teddy's in a fraternity, I have to admit that was the first impression I had...though I knew things couldn't be thaaaaat bad! ha ha

Teddy - my thoughts are with you. I think of you a lot and hope you are safe. I'm sorry I'm not more regular on my posts or anything else that would let you know the truth of this statement. But I do think of you. Here's to your safety.

Will be glad to have you back in the artillery again!

I know sgt.s don't get salutes --- but you get mine, Sir!

Very good. More than well deserved. Your folks told me about the news Wednesday when we were all at the auditorium working on the next show. Looking forward to the New York trip next summer (found a couple nice pubs there last June).
