Clarifications
As there seemed to be some confusion in the comments, I got promoted to sergeant, not first sergeant. The first sergeant was present for the promotion and helped pin on my new rank. Also, I forgot to mention that my team leader helped as well (which is standard, and I forgot most of you probably wouldn't know that).
As for bring your family to work days when we blow up stuff, YES we do actually do that sometimes. At our annual training two summers ago we had a family day. Families were able to watch a couple of live rounds fired (although, the impact is too far away to see), and also were able to shoot blanks from some of the small-arms. This was an especially big hit with the kids. Not sure if/when we'll be doing this again.
Word is the constitutional referendum should pass; we'll see how that works out.
That's it for now! TeddY2K out!

Hey, son.
Apparently the level of violence during the referendum was less than expected. That's good. However, Baghdad cannot function on a regular basis under the conditions imposed for the vote...curfews, no cars, etc. It will be interesting to see what happens during Saddam's trial and the December elections.
I look forward to hearing your viewpoint on all these events when you get home (uncensored, full-blown Teddy rhetoric!)
We received a lovely card from my cousin, Pam, to let us know you are in her thoughts and prayers.
(She's one of those silent readers of your blog.)
Several packages of goodies are on their way from various people. You may have to work out more! Can you lift weights while sitting in the humvee?
Keep safe.
I was about to say, all the first sergeants I've ever met have been at least 35 or 40 years old. In fact, I've never even met a staff sergeant under 28. Not that I don't think you're capable of such voodoo.
Didn't have a chance to comment yesterday. Thanks for the clarification for your readers.
Weather here unseasonably warm. Family Readiness Group working on plans for your return.
So, on your vehicle, are there now two sergeants?
A lovely card from your cousin Pam? Is this THE cousin Pam? If so does she have any daughters you could introduce me to Mrs. Tedrick?
Congratulations on the promotion Teddy. Keep up the postings.
That last one was me.
Matt Berge
Matt, I knew it was you. No, sorry, she doesn't have any daughters and her students are much too young for you.
Saw Pastor Pete today. We agree, that we are both proud of you.
We were at Stronghold today.
The troops did some firing and demo's at Fort Sill. Auntie Kim just wasn't there.
Congratulations on the promotion!
Take care of yourself.
