School Daze
Well, I am back in the world of college. So far, so good. Managed to stay awake through my first two days of classes, and I'm caught up on homework (yes; I've had homework already... there will be a lot of homework for my programming class, however my others won't be too bad.. mostly some reading). I ran into two veterans(one Navy, one Marines and then AirForce) right before my poli sci 101 class, which looks like it will be awesome. It's being taught by a younger guy, his first year teaching it, and focuses more on globalization than the other 101 classes (it's one of 5 sections) so I think I got real lucky. My motorcycle lab section doesn't begin until after spring break, and the class is taught by an older gentleman who is another vet who came to ISU on the GI Bill after the Vietnam era(although he spent it in Korea). He has a "Wayne Henson beard" and has been teaching motorcycle safety here since 1976! His program has the longest continuously running federal grant at the school, and has brought in a ridiculous amount of money, and over 44,000 people have gone through it either at the college or through the community. I've managed to somewhat figure out the busses here, and I also figured out today that it is a 30 minute walk from campus back to my apt. complex. It was a nice day and I had several hours to kill, so I gave it a try. Speaking of the apt, it is shaping up nicely, although I am now under a self and sister imposed ban on Bed, Beth & Beyond. I would have bought enough stuff to furnish an entire house if I had been able to carry it or fit it in the car. Only thing I really need now is something on the walls.. art or posters or something; my room is rather blaise at this point. On the plus side, I'm only utilizing probably 60% (if that) of the storage capacity I have.
I've gotten to see some friends here, although there are a few I still need to hook up with. Will hopefully get to see lots of people this weekend at welcome home party (5-9 Saturday.. contact me or the family for location info if you don't already have it). Anyhow, off to bed for now!
TeddY2K out!

Glad you are getting settled in. Bed, Bath & Beyond?
I am trying to figure out why the BLOG said you posted at 9:03 A.M.?
Is that Baghdad time? Or is the server somewhere offshore? Or is your laptap still on Iraqi time?
Enjoy and learn.
What caught you @ Bed, Bath & Beyond? Was it the gizmo factor? Was it the allure of colors other than sand, taupe, & khaki? Was it an attractive sales girl?
Welcome back to the world.

Actually, for those of you wondering, the bed, bath and beyond was inspired by a coupon in the mail and his need of a toothbrush holder. Which is really funny in my opinion because just earlier this week he laughed at the store and said he wouldn't be caught dead in it...how the tables have turned...oh yes.
Hey, son.
Your Dad was confused; he thought you were on a spending binge in Bath and Body Works!
Although, the aroma rising from the boots you wore for a year in Iraq indicates the boots could use something from Bath and Body Works.
